Seventies Vibes with Boohoo

It's officially the end of Summer. September is the month for change; the days get cooler and fashion becomes transitional.

Top, skirt and boots, all courtesy of Boohoo. Bag, similar here. Jacket, similar here.

If you're a regular reader of my blog, you'll already know I'm obsessed with all things seventies, I really do think I was born in the wrong era sometimes! Seventies suede is having a moment right now and its continuing on into the new season. There's no better fabric to wear during this pre-autumn period.
suede skirt is a staple and I've paired this navy one from Boohoo with this high neck crop tee for a pop of colour. Just because it's no longer summer that doesn't mean you can't wear florals! If, like me, you can't get enough of suede, click here see all the suede goodness Boohoo has to offer.
I think my favourite piece I'm wearing here has got to be these fringed ankle boots. Fringing is the perfect nod to the seventies trend, a great way to ease yourself in to the look without committing fully. Boohoo has a great selection of ankle boots this season and this pair are no exception. I've already worn them so many times, both casual and a little more dressed up. They look especially good with straight leg jeans. You can't go wrong with a black ankle boot, and the fringe on this pair adds interest to an otherwise plain staple.
If you're lusting after all things seventies and boho, take a look at the selection here and here... Happy shopping!

#OOTD Monday 18th May, Boho Babein'

Jumpsuit, H&M. Sandals, River Island (similar here). Bag, Primark (last year, similar here).

I love jumpsuits because they are just instant outfits, all you really need to add is a pair of shoes and you are good to go. I especially love this jumpsuit because I picked it up in H&M when it was on special offer at £10! How crazy is that? I know this will be a staple in my wardrobe all Summer.
Can we just take a moment to admire my sandals? I loved them for a long time before buying them but I just wasn't so sure I would wear them. I tried them on and fell in love! The heel is the perfect height and they are surprisingly comfy. What with this seventies revival and everything I thought they were the perfect shoe to add a little retro vibe to any outfit. This wooden block heel clog style shoe is everywhere at the moment, Topshop have some great options if you are looking for a lower heel than these.

Are you loving or hating the clogs comeback? Leave me a comment!

#OOTD: 27th March 2015, Seventies Platforms

I have a confession to make: I am obsessed with suede. There, I said it! I've gone and bought another suede skirt but this one is extra beautiful so it was necessary. I'm also completely obsessed with this whole seventies vibe, as you are probably very aware. I can't get enough of platforms, flares and suede, it's definitely my favourite look for Spring.

Jumper, H&M (similar here). Skirt, Beyond Retro. Boots, Topshop (old, similar here).

How pretty is this skirt? I can't wait to wear it over the Summer with platform sandals and a t-shirt. Although I'm already tall, I couldn't resist these Topshop boots, they are veeeery high though so not for the clumsy or faint-hearted!
I think transitional outfits are always the the hardest because you can never really predict the weather, but layers are key. You can always add or take off a jacket or knit so they are ideal to pair with bare legs at this time of year.

#OOTD, 22nd March 2015. The Flare

On Sunday my family and I went for a carvery for a belated Mother's Day meal. I took this as an opportunity to wear my new Mango flares - bought via ASOS. I already have a pair of dark indigo flares from ASOS but obviously, a light wash is also a Summer essential. I just need a black pair and then I've hit the trifecta!

Flares, ASOS. Top (old H&M), similar here. Mules, Primark. Bag, Kate Spade. Sunglasses, Michael Kors (via TK Maxx).

I didn't actually intend to blog this outfit until I saw the gorgeous landscape in from the pub car park, and since it was such a beautiful day I thought I'd better take advantage!
I love these flares, they are so comfy and have a very relaxed feel to them. I've never bought jeans from Mango before because I always assume they would be too short (I'm 5ft 11) but they are the perfect length! And they are only £22 on ASOS at the moment so grab a bargain while you can! I dug this t-shirt out of the back of a drawer but I think it lends a little hippy vibe to the look. Lace t-shirts are great because they can be dressed up or down. These mules were bought from Primark last year, but mules are so big right now you can buy a pair almost anywhere. I love how versatile they can be, and they are also really comfy.
I think I will be living in flares this season so keep an eye on my blog for more flare action this week. I wondered at first what shoes to wear with them because platform boots aren't exactly ideal for me; I tend to wear mine with heeled sandals and also pretty flats. Follow me on Instagram (@kelsiee94) to see how I style them daily.

Also, I'm having a Spring clean and I'm selling lots of items on Depop, so take a look and grab a bargain! I'm open to offers, username @kelsm. I'll be adding more over this week.

#OOTD, 16th February, Suede Parade

Unless you've been hiding under a rock lately, you will know that the seventies is a HUGE trend for the new season, and I am already loving it. I haven't found my perfect pair of flares yet or that 'just right' fringed bag, but I have bought several vintage suede skirts. This look is inspired mostly by the Chloe SS15 runway, where tan suede was paired with navy. It's still too cold for the gladiator sandals also showcased so instead I've gone for my favourite ankle boots.

Skirt, eBay. Shirt and boots, New Look (last year). Bag, ASOS (sold out).

When it's finally sunny I'll be wearing this skirt with a simple white t-shirt and platform sandals. Are you loving suede lately too? I'd love to see how you style it, leave me a comment!
